PhD students Roberto Rodes Lopez and Antonio Caballero Jambrina won the first and second prize, respectively, in the best poster competition in connection with the 1st Danish Californian Workshop on Photonics Technologies, held the 28-29 of January at Stanford University.
Lars Beer Nielsen, Innovation Center Denmark, Christopher Chase from U California, Berkeley and Roberto Rodes Lopez from DTU Fotonik. The latter shared the first prize.
Roberto Rodes Lopez poster on ‘ Gigabit impulse radio UWB signal generation and fibre transmission‘ shared the first price in the category photonic technologies with PhD student Christopher Chase from U California Berkeley with his work on ‘Tuneable VCSEL with a high contrast grating for fast wavelength tuning’.
In the category access system the first prize was won by PhD Student Shing-Wa Wong with a his work on ‘Performance demonstration of sleep mode ONU for energy conserving TDM-PON’, with Antonio Caballero on second place with a poster entitled ‘Digital coherent detection of multi-gigabit 40 GHz carrier frequency radio-over-fibre signals using photonic down-conversion.
The competition featured participants from U C Berkeley, Stanford University, Aalborg University, U C Davis and DTU Fotonik. More details on the workshop: www.wireless.fotonik.dtu.dk
