The purpose of sending students into practical training is to teach them three things:
It is important that students comprehend that the world reaches far beyond the walls of DTU, and that companies and people can be very different from what they know here at campus. It is equally important that students experience the fact that what they've learned at the Bachelor in Chemical Engineering program is applicable and even useful!
Planning of a major project, bigger than what you've come across at DTU so far, and
Reporting, i.e. describing a project, its procedures, results and its conclusion. All written in such a way that any outsider - including the DTU study guide - can comprehend it.
To be eligible to enter practical training B. Eng. students must
Have passed all first, second, and third semester laboratory practice courses;
Lack no more than 15 ECTS points of regular first through fourth semester courses; and
Have passed course 28171/172, Introduction to Internal and External Environment.
