A Ph.D. study at DTU Chemistry is a comprehensive research education in modern chemistry. The options range from basic research into fundamental scientific problems to projects in collaboration with industrial companies or innovation leading to start-up companies.  

 

You will be in contact with international research environments and will have the possibility of doing part of your research at a foreign university or institution.

 

You will be coached in the dissemination of chemical knowledge and of your own results through participation as a teaching assistant in the courses of the institute, in recruitment drives of high school students, and through presentations at conferences.

 

You will build skills and will expand your knowledge in the field of chemistry through participation in courses at DTU, at other universities, graduate schools and summer schools. 

 

 

Qualifications needed for a Ph.D. study at DTU Chemistry

 

  • You have a solid basic knowledge and a good Master of Science result.
  • You have a strong wish to make chemistry contribute to society.
  • You are ambitious, spirited and are able to oversee many aspects at one time.
  • You appreciate a good working environment and perform well in a team.
  • You have a clear idea of the purpose of your obtaining a Ph.D. degree in chemistry.

Subsequently, you contact those professors on our Faculty that you regard as attractive potential Ph.D. supervisors, in order to learn details about research projects, the possibilities of funding etc.
