Dr. Mark Berman guest professor at IMM

This fall, Dr. Mark Berman from CSIRO Mathematical and Information Sciences in Sydney, Autralia, will be giving a Ph.D. course at the ITMAN Research School at IMM.

Until October, Dr. Mark Berman will be giving the Ph.D. course 02918 Spectroscopic, Multispectral and Hyperspectral Image Analysis. During this course, he will give an introduction to the subject with the aid of examples drawn from mineral exploration, pharmaceuticals and biology.

 

Dr. Mark Berman visits IMM from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia's National science agency and one of the largest and most versatile research institutions in the World. CSIRO is involved in more than 700 research projects and work together with research scientists in more than 80 countries.

 

The Image Analysis Department at CSIRO focuses on the development of innovative solutions to practical problems, especially on automised extraction of quantitative information from complex images. The objective of these projects is often to present a commercial solution.
