A number of PhD scholarships are available for studies at DTU Informatics.
DTU Informatics Graduate School ITMAN would like to invite applications for a fully funded PhD scholarship (1/1) for the project “Online CT-scanning of pigs for slaughtering” (“Online CT-scanning af slagtesvin”). The PhD is partly funded by the
Danish Meat Association (Slagteriernes Forskningsinstitut).
Since 2006, DTU Informatics has been compared to three other Danish ICT institutes and the IT University of Denmark.
To underline the new, joined profile of the university, all departments, including IMM, are given new names at January 1st, 2008.
A number of PhD scholarships are available at the Department of Informatics and Mathematical Modelling in the spring of 2008.

On November 16, IMM received its first grant from the Danish National Advanced Technology Foundation, which granted means for five high-technological platforms.

At MICCAI 2006 in Copenhagen Karl Sjöstrand from IMM was, at the end of the main conference Wednesday 5 October, awarded with the prize for the best paper written and presented by a PhD student in the category Picture Analysis.
The 21 and 22 April, the conference “Nordic Optimization Symposium” was held at DGI-byen. The conference was arranged by IMM and CTT - Centre for Traffic and Transport. Among other things the arrangement had focus on the newest research within efficiency improvement and optimization of railway operation and therefore, DSB was one of the main sponsors for the conference.
Professor Hanne Riis Nielson from Computer Science & Engineering, IMM, has been appointed to be “Internationalist of the Year”.
Assistant Professor Thomas Bolander from Computer Science & Engineering, IMM, has been appointed to be “Teacher of the Year”.
The 27 February ATV launched its report, “New Technology – New experiences = A way to growth”, on a highly profiled meeting at the IT University in Copenhagen. Amont others the speakers include The Danish Radio (DR) director general Kenneth Plummer, the DTU Vice-rector Knut Konradsen and Professor Henrik Wann Jensen from DTU.
The large amount of traffic is still growing - on the roads, on the railway and in airspace. The traffic planners fights for keeping up with this growth and their weapon in this fight is mathematical models.
