In continuation of Gorm Petersen’s grant, DTU has established a new award honoring young researchers who have made an extraordinary effort and who have great potential for further development. DTU Fotonik's Antonio Caballero is one such young researcher.

Antonio Caballero Jambrina carried out his PhD studies at DTU Fotonik. The title of his thesis is:
High Capacity Radio over Fiber Transmission Links
The research results achieved by Antonio within the field of telecommunication are of absolute international standard. His has contributed to a very large number of articles, showing an impressive capacity for work and creativity. The topic of Antonio's thesis is the generation and detection of wireless signals, with gigabit per second data rates, using photonic technologies.
Antonio spent his external research stay at Stanford University in one of the world’s leading laboratories within optical telecommunication. Here, he contributed to new research directions and to the results of the research conducted by the Stanford group.
Antonio is now working as a postdoc at DTU Fotonik.
