Visibility in Laser Focus World

Visibility for DTU Fotonik in Laser Focus World, an international magazine covering lasers, photonics, and optoelectronics.

The article covers the papers by Xiaomin Liu, Jesper Lægsgaard, and Dmitry Turchinovich [1,2]. In these papers the DTU Fotonik researchers demonstrate that a highly-stable operation of monolithic femtosecond fiber laser can be achieved by using photonic crystal fibers that act as both pulse-compression and stabilization elements of the laser. The Laser Focus World news article also briefly outlines the researchers' vision of the future applications of these types of lasers.

More activities on the development of femtosecond fiber lasers at DTU Fotonik are supported by a 5.7 million DKK grant from the Danish Council for Independent Research - Technology and Production Sciences (FTP), recently awarded to this group of researchers for the period of 2011-2014.
