Prestigous invitation to the SPIE Fellows Committee.
Jesper Glückstad, currently the only Danish Fellow of SPIE, has been invited to take a seat in the SPIE Fellows Committee from 2012. The 26 member committee that represent 12 countries from around the world includes several international luminaries among them a former Nobel Laurate in Physics.
The SPIE Fellows Committee job involves a considerable time commitment. It involves serving as advocate for encouraging Fellows nominations for worthy colleagues as well as participating in annual reviews of nominations for the selection of new SPIE Fellows.
An additional role of serving on the SPIE Fellows Committee is to help motivate new fellow nominations from one's own field of expertise or geographic region throughout the year as well as generally help to promote activity with SPIE.
In particular, Jesper Glückstad has been asked to use his new committee position for promoting SPIE involvement in Denmark as well as in all of Scandinavia.
