The course was composed of tutorials, an exhibition and experimental exercises with LEDs. The tutorials were given by people from the DIODE group and by people from the industry. The tutorials were composed to give an overview over the field of the LED-technology, the physical principles behind light emission in LEDs, thermal management, driver electronics, LED light measurement and characterization, examples of new LED lamps, the design process of new LED lamps and products, and future trends in the LED technology. The exhibition gave the participants an overview of the newest LED products available on the market.
The workshop with experimental exercises gave the participants a hands-on experience with some of the topics covered in the tutorials. Around 30 participants completed the experimental exercises and four participants with correct answers to the questions in the questionnaire were given a prize, consisting of an RBG LED with a chromaticity diagram unit for control of the colored emission from the LED.
