DTU Danchip’s safety course consists of theoretical and practical training. All new cleanroom users must obtain DTU Danchip’s safety course certificate before access to the cleanroom is granted.
Safety course content
On the theoretical training and the safety course you are provided with basic information on the construction of cleanroom and its safety systems. Users receive essential safety training in the cleanroom and learn how to work with hazardeous chemicals. Users are also educated about the guidelines and work procedures that have to be followed in a cleanroom environment. Along with a power point presentation a video is presented and a tour inside the cleanroom, highlighting important safety aspects, will be conducted.
The practical / hands-on safety course includes knowledge of the correct procedure when working with chemicals in the cleanroom, knowledge of personal protective clothing, general behavior in the cleanroom, and waste deposition, etc. As well as a tour of the cleanroom to get an overview of the safety equipment. In addition, practical exercises are conducted in order to increase knowledge of the handling of chemicals
Where and when?
The theoretical training
The course is usually held on the first Monday of every month. The course runs for 2 hours from 9:30-11:30.
Course dates are announced in the the event calender. In July, no course is held. The courses are held in the seminar room in building 347.
The practical training/hands-on
At the theoretical training you will be informed about the dates for the practical training/hands-on, which usually are held the coming week. There is a maximum of 3 participants per course and it runs for 2½ hour.
Price
The cost for participation is as follows:
Theoretical training = ½ Danchip support hour
Which is equivalent to kr. 600 for participants from industry / kr. 225 for participants from externally funded projects and other academic institutions / 0 kr for participants from internal DTU projects.
Practical training / hands-on = 1 ½ Danchip support hour
Which is equivalent to kr. 1.800 for participants from industry / kr. 675 for participants from externally funded projects and other academic institutions / 0 kr for participants from internal DTU projects.
An invoice will automatically be sent to your department / company.
Cancellation policy
Cancellation of the confirmed enrolment made later than 7 days before the planned course date, DTU Danchip charges a cancellation fee equaling 100% of the price. If cancellation is made 7 days before it
is free of charge.

How do I get access to the cleanroom?
When you have been through our safety course – both the theoretical and practical training – access to the cleanroom can be granted. Please contact Danchips reception Anita Stick (building 347/room 070) or Mette Noer (building 347/room 184).
