Department of Civil Engineering - DTU Byg has the ambition to be a national and international acknowledged university institute, that through its activities in the above fields, contributes to the professional development of the civil engineering area, and the connected industrial development process.
Education:
Department of Civil Engineering - DTU Byg contributes to the occupationally and academically directed master and bachelor educations. The educations are based on a solid professional foundation in combination with technical topicality and contacts to industry.
Research:
Department of Civil Engineering - DTU Byg focuses its research within the areas: Structural Engineering, Geotechnics and Geology, Indoor Environment, Arctic Technology, Building Design, Building Materials, and Building Physics and Services. The research is carried out in an international collaboration and has international research level. The international research school based at the institute educates PhD students at the highest international level.
Innovation:
Department of Civil Engineering - DTU Byg is a part of a committed industrial collaboration, in the form of commissioned research and development, among others by use of the unique experimental facilities present at the institute.
The institute offers research based in-service training e.g. by master educations.
