The introduction week is a four day introduction programme taking place from Tuesday to Friday before the semester starts. During the introduction week you will receive valuable information concerning your stay at DTU and in Denmark. It is also a great opportunity to meet other students and to get acquainted with DTU and Denmark.

The introduction week will, among other things, include:

  • Registration at the University
  • Introduction to the study methods used at DTU
  • Introduction to the facilities available to International Students at DTU
  • Introduction to Danish culture
  • Sightseeing in central Copenhagen
  • And of course; a variety of social events and parties…

You will automatically receive an invitation for the introduction week on your CampusNet email. CampusNet is the DTU intranet, which you will also receive more information on once you have been admitted to DTU.

Student card

During the introduction week each student will be provided with a student identity card stating his/her name and registration number (date of birth plus a personal code). Always bring your student ID with you: it gives you access to the library, your exams, the DTU data bars (computers placed around campus), etc. Once you have registered at the International Affairs office, you can pick up your student ID at the International Affairs office or at the welcome meeting.

Language Courses

The International Affairs office organizes courses in Danish for International students. In the autumn semester, the courses start in September.

The Danish courses are taught during the semester (approx. 8-10 weeks) and start in the second week of the semester. However, it is sometimes possible to join a class starting two weeks later. The courses will normally be 4 to 6 hours a week and take place at DTU.

These courses are organised by Hellerup Language School.

To take the course, sign up at International Affairs at the beginning of the semester, when details about the timing and cost of the courses will be available.
