Different types of financing are available for the PhD programme.
DTU’s PhD scholarships – One third of all DTU’s PhD students are funded by national government grants. The departments at DTU regularly advertise their PhD scholarships as vacant positions at DTU.
Externally funded scholarships – A number of DTU’s PhD students are financed through external funds from businesses or national research councils. Scholarships are advertised in relevant academic journals and on DTU's homepage as vacant positions.
Industrial PhD – The arrangement is administered by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. The purpose of the programme is to promote development and innovation in the Danish business community. The Ministry provides financial support to businesses that wish to take on industrial PhD students.
Privately funded PhD education – PhD students may choose to privately finance their PhD education. More information on annual tuition rates and what it includes can be found using the link Tuition in the left side menu.
