ICAT – when the university and businesses conduct research together
The Interdisciplinary Research Center for CATalysis (ICAT) is an example of a multi-disciplinary research environment that gathers competencies across DTU’s departments while actively involving Danish businesses.
The centre draws on knowledge and competencies from chemistry, chemical technology and physics, and since it was founded it has achieved pioneering research results within areas such as nanostructured materials, heterogeneous catalysis and fuel cells.
Cooperation is close between the leading Danish businesses in the centre’s research areas, and includes Haldor Topsøe A/S and Statoil. The centre also works with a number of strong Danish and international research environments.
