Defining where a research environment starts and ends can be very difficult. DTU itself is one large research environment in the field of technology and natural sciences with an extensive range of customers, collaboration partners and stakeholders. At DTU, more or less professionally defined areas are also organised as small independent research environments that can be anchored in individual departments and/or often in several departments – possibly even with other external research environments.
This considerable flexibility helps ensure that our collaboration partners and stakeholders can find a suitable combination of competencies to solve the relevant challenges. And if the framework does not already exist, we can easily create one through our major network of external institutions in Denmark and abroad.
