Student training in a public or private sector business is an integrated part of the business-oriented Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree. During the last part of the study programme, the student will complete a student training course in a business. The training course lasts one semester. The purpose of the training course is to:
- let the student try to apply his/her obtained knowledge to solve practical tasks;
- give the student a practical basis for the subsequent theoretical teaching; and
- give the student experience in participating in work routines at a workplace for engineers.
As a main rule, the student receives salary during the training course corresponding to an apprentice salary. However, it is also possible to set up a student training course without salary if this is the only possibility.
The contents of the training course may relate to a specific discipline or it may be inter-disciplinary in respect of DTU’s seven Bachelor of Science in Engineering programmes:
- Arctic technology
- Construction
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Chemical (in future: Chemical and biotechnology)
- Mechanical Engineering
- IT
If your business is interested in participating in a student training service arrangement, please contact the head of the relevant study programme or send an email to: . You will be contacted as soon as we find the relevant academic contact person.
