Two of DTU’s most important goals are increased internationalisation through more qualified foreign students and development of an even closer collaboration with Danish and foreign businesses. DTU will now gather these ambitions in a “Student Sponsorship” programme.
The programme is based on the actual collaboration between a business and a research unit at DTU. The business will have the possibility of sponsoring a qualified foreign student selected by the business together with DTU. The sponsorship amounts to DKK 50,000 and covers 24 months.
The sponsorship gives the business a chance to influence the choice of study programme by the student within the framework of the MSc programme and to complete relevant projects, including the MSc project, in collaboration with the student.
The close relationship between business and student may form the basis for a continued collaboration after the student’s completion of the study programme. This could be through employment in Denmark, in a subsidiary in the student’s home country or through further education such as a PhD student working on a project which is relevant to the business.
