Background
In 2006, DTU and Siemens established the first Center for Knowledge Interchange (CKI) outside Germany. The purpose of the CKI is to create collaboration projects in areas with strategic perspective for both parties. On its side, DTU has excellent cutting edge competencies in the area of technical sciences, whereas Siemens has extensive research and development activities in a number of areas where DTU could benefit from being involved.
Vision
Tha CKI at DTU has been established with a view to creating the framework for development of new and strengthening of existing projects and relations. CKI at DTU is to contribute to the setting of new standards for alliances between universities and companies, for example by creating new inventive frameworks for and types of collaboration. It is the ambition to build a CKI which over a three-year period will be consolidated with a distinct profile and a high level of activity producing visible and valuable results for Siemens and DTU as well as Danish research and development in general.
Organisation
At DTU, the administration of the CKI function is placed in AEM Innovation.
